MISSION BLEU, from high in the mountains between Port-au-Prince, is one of the world's finest coffees. We purchase the prepared but unroasted beans from the producers directly (one of them at left, grading the coffee bean by bean — yours in the smallest pile, lesser grades elsewhere on the table, the stuff on the floor for other "gourmet" coffee vendors).
THREATENED SPECIES —
we have been unable to obtain any resupply for over a year. The
processing house finally re-opened, but the hurricanes destroyed most
of the 2008 crop.
Reserves are almost exhausted. Once brought to Liberty, the beans are roasted at one of the region's best micro-roasteries, Bongo Java in Nashville, which only accepts certified fair trade organically grown coffee (I got a laugh when I asked about fertilizers and pesticides — "up those mountains?!").
Get it while it lasts
— and pray that we succeed in getting new supplies. $20/pound,
whole roasted beans in vacuum bag. Within the US, by Priority
Mail, one or two bags $5 s&h.. Larger orders cannot be accepted until we can obtain new supplies. Customers outside US please inquire. May be ordered from the St. John of Kronstadt Press alone or along with a book order; see special information concerning s&h costs for combined orders at this link.
Order by check or money order (US$ payable on a US bank) or credit card (MasterCard or VISA) from
